Word Wrapper‚Ñ¢ puts the word wrap back into your text files. If you have a plain text document that has carriage returns and/or line feeds at the end of each line of text, Word Wrapper‚Ñ¢ will remove them so that you can then edit the document in your favorite word processor and the word wrap will work.
This is invaluable for anyone who does a lot of telecommunicating since any text you download through your modem will have carriage returns at the end of each line and will not be easily editable in a word processor. It can also be used to restore a word processing file that has been saved as text-only with line breaks.
Word Wrapper‚Ñ¢ is intelligent enough to recognize paragraphs and short lines of text and to leave the carriage returns where you want them, removing only those that get in the way of word wrapping. Word Wrapper‚Ñ¢ also works on double-spaced text documents.
Just select the name of the file you want to word wrap. Then enter the file name into which you wish to save the changed file (you can save back into the original file if you like.). Word Wrapper‚Ñ¢ will convert and save the changed file and get ready to do another one.
Or you can click on the Wrap Clipboard button. Word Wrapper‚Ñ¢ will then convert whatever text is in the clipboard. You can then paste the wrapped text into the scrapbook or into an application window.
If your source text has special requirements, there are several options you can choose before selecting the file you want wrapped. Just click on the Options... button or select the Options... item from the menu to set any of five different custom options:
1. Delete spaces from beginning of each line. - You can tell Word Wrapper‚Ñ¢ to delete any number of spaces from the beginning of each line.
2. Replace spaces with a tab. - Word Wrapper‚Ñ¢ will replace any desired number of spaces with a tab.
3. The input file is double spaced. - Check this option if the input is double spaced. Word Wrapper‚Ñ¢ will remove the double spacing and put back the word wrap while still keeping any paragraphs.
4. N or more spaces at beginning of line means a new paragraph. - You can tell Word Wrapper‚Ñ¢ how many spaces to check for at the beginning of a line to decide that this is a paragraph indentation. The default is 3 spaces.
5. Leave Return if line is less than N characters long. - Word Wrapper‚Ñ¢ will leave the carriage return at the end of short lines and you can define what is a short line. The default is 50 characters or less.
Word Wrapper‚Ñ¢ allows you to save a set of options as an Options file under any name you choose. So you can have a number of different Options files, one for MCI Mail, one for Compuserve, one for replacing spaces with tabs, and so on. Then you can set your options by clicking on the Open button in the Options dialog and selecting one of your previously saved Options files.
